Arizona Christian University recently announced that 3-time Grammy Award winner, and 40-time Dove Award recipient Michael W. Smith will be the recipient of ACU’s 3rd Annual Daniel Award for Courageous Public Faith!
The Daniels Award was launched in 2011 at the school’s 50th Anniversary Celebration. The recipient that year was was the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush. In 2012 The Daniel Award was presented to the Rev. Franklin Graham, President of Samaritan’s Purse and of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
Smith has 29 No. 1 hit songs, 14 Gold and 5 Platinum Albums, and 12 Grammy nominations. He has served as founding pastor of a major church in Nashville, TN and has performed at a presidential inauguration. Smith and his wife Debbie have five children. Even with all the success and awards, Smith has said he wants only to be “remembered as a God-fearing man who loved his wife and kids well.”
Proceeds from donations and ticket sales will go toward the ACU Scholarship Fund, helping provide financial support for qualified and worthy students to attend ACU! Donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by IRS law, beyond the cost of goods and services.
