Kathy Troccoli – Stubborn Love

I’d be untruthful if I said I never forget the mercy of Jesus in my life. I’ve forgotten many times and as a result I’ve taken part in envy, self pity, disgust, lust, hate, pride, gossip and several other ungodly behaviors. All since I accepted Christ in 1988.

The amazing thing about Jesus is that He finds me time and time again, sometimes it is when those around me have actually wanted me to fail or be humiliated. Other times it is when I, myself look on the darkness that is the sinful nature in me wanting to dominate and I am so disgusted and think “You fool. There is no way He will forgive you, take you back and call you His child…NO WAY…FORGET IT!” I think what a faithless, gutless and hateful person I am…but then I remember, God has a plan for my life and he will be faithful to complete it…I thin of the may accounts of redemption in the Bible and THAT is when the stronghold of the enemy is broke. The WORD of God reminds me of His love for me over and over again and just like that the chains I put on myself are snapped like a little twig by the Spirit of the ONE AND ONLY LIVING GOD

I’m not that great a Christian but fortunately I belong to and serve a PERFECT SAVIOR.

His love for us is a stubborn love and He is relentless in His pursuit of us. We are His most treasured creations

THANK YOU JESUS FOR OUR STUBBORN LOVE!!!!

Even my good days are unspectacular offerings…are you someone who needs reminded that the grip sin has on your life can be taken away in an instant? It can…look at this great example from God’s word starting at Luke 7:36…JUST INCREDIBLE!!!

Anointing His Feet

36-39One of the Pharisees asked him over for a meal. He went to the Pharisee’s house and sat down at the dinner table. Just then a woman of the village, the town harlot, having learned that Jesus was a guest in the home of the Pharisee, came with a bottle of very expensive perfume and stood at his feet, weeping, raining tears on his feet. Letting down her hair, she dried his feet, kissed them, and anointed them with the perfume. When the Pharisee who had invited him saw this, he said to himself, “If this man was the prophet I thought he was, he would have known what kind of woman this is who is falling all over him.”

40Jesus said to him, “Simon, I have something to tell you.”

“Oh? Tell me.”

41-42″Two men were in debt to a banker. One owed five hundred silver pieces, the other fifty. Neither of them could pay up, and so the banker canceled both debts. Which of the two would be more grateful?”

43-47Simon answered, “I suppose the one who was forgiven the most.”

“That’s right,” said Jesus. Then turning to the woman, but speaking to Simon, he said, “Do you see this woman? I came to your home; you provided no water for my feet, but she rained tears on my feet and dried them with her hair. You gave me no greeting, but from the time I arrived she hasn’t quit kissing my feet. You provided nothing for freshening up, but she has soothed my feet with perfume. Impressive, isn’t it? She was forgiven many, many sins, and so she is very, very grateful. If the forgiveness is minimal, the gratitude is minimal.”

48Then he spoke to her: “I forgive your sins.”

49That set the dinner guests talking behind his back: “Who does he think he is, forgiving sins!”

50He ignored them and said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

AMAZING!!!!

Here is a video using the song as a backdrop. I am sorry I couldn’t readily find a video of the song featuring Kathy Troccoli, the ones that did feature her or her image were from the song as it was recorded for her Greatest Hits project and frankly, it just doesn’t hold up to the original.

Stubborn Love
Kathy Troccoli

Caught again. Your faithless friend.
Don’t You ever tire of hearing
What a fool I’ve been?
Guess I should pray,
But what can I say?
Oh, it hurts to know the hundred times
I’ve caused You pain.

The “forgive me” sounds so empty
When I never change.
Yet You stay and say, “I love you still,”
Forgiving me time and time again.

CHORUS:
It’s Your stubborn love
That never lets go of me.
I don’t understand how You can stay -
Perfect love embracing the worst in me
How I long for Your stubborn love.

Funny me.
Just couldn’t see
Even long before I knew You,
You were loving me.
Sometimes I cry -
You must cry, too
when You see the broken promises
I’ve made to you.
I keep saying that I’ll trust You
Though I seldom do.
Yet You stay and say You love me still,
Knowing some day I’ll be like You.

CHORUS:

It’s Your stubborn love
That never lets go of me.
I don’t understand how You can stay -
Perfect love embracing the worst in me.
And You never let me go -
I believe I finally know
I can’t live without Your stubborn love!
