Steven Curtis Chapman – The Great Adventure

When “The Great Adventure” was released we were all in shock because Steven Curtis Chapman had cut his hair…that didn’t seem to impact the quality of his music and the entire project was a huge success!

I remember the station I worked for created an entire promotion around the theme “The Great Adventure” where we gave away “Family four packs to area attractions…” which was a GREAT idea…except it lasted 107 days!  Our frequency was at 107.1…so it went on forever!

Steven Curtis Chapman – Let Us Pray

In 1996 SCC released Signs of Life. The project was full of his usual thoughtful, introspective lyrics and acoustic guitar driven melodies that you can almost take for granted because he makes it all seem so effortless. From Signs of Life, we’ve elected to share “Let Us Pray”.You’ll find other GREAT songs on the project including, “Lord of the Dance,” “Celebrate You,” “Free,” and “Hold On to Jesus”. Looking back the decade and a half since it’s release it holds up well. There are few artists like Chapman that can combine his mastery of musicianship and forthright lyrics to produce releases like Signs of Life.

Congratulations to Steven Curtis Chapman on his latest Dove Award Nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year.
